Christ’s Body was founded in 1990 by Bruce McBogg. In 1995, the ministry was able to purchase the existing 9200 sq ft building at 850 Lincoln in downtown Denver.
After the death of Bruce McBogg in September 2004, the Board of Directors appointed John Moorhead (who joined Christ’s Body staff in 2000) to take over as Pastor/Executive Director. In 2006, a building renovation capital campaign was launched. Thanks to the generosity of God’s people over $600,000 was raised and used for this project. Simultaneously, in partnership with the City of Denver, a new respite care program was added along with a commercial kitchen, showers and laundry facilities for all our clients. John retired in December of 2016.
In January 2017, Rev. Jim Chapman replaced John Moorhead as the new Pastor/CEO at Christ’s Body.
Today, Christ’s Body Ministries is a non-denominational church and rescue mission organization which serves the homeless and the poor in downtown Denver. On an average day, we will feed 200 or more meals and offer care to our guests.
We offer distinct services and resources each week to our homeless guests that include:
We are a church. We offer weekly church services, bible studies, discipleship, and pastoral care and counseling.
Resident community. We have a 1-year resident "Life Growth" program for men who are seeking personal, spiritual and vocational transformation.
Respite care. We offer an in-house, up to 30-day recuperation program for homeless men.
Day shelter. We provide Pastoral Care, food, clothing, hygiene care, showers, and laundry.

All of these services and resources are designed to the homeless men and women rise to new ways. For more information on any of these programs, contact us at 303-860-1272.
what we believe
We hold to the Statement of Faith as adopted by the National Association of Evangelicals
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
